Healthcare Technology Course

What is it?

Advanced PG Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics - Launched in the year 2016. Clinical Nutrition is unique in the sense the General Nutrition is not applicable in the clinical setup. Further the students will have training in Basic Medical Sciences subjects, IT and Biomedical Engineering. All hospitals need such specialized dieticians.

  • The course is of one and half year duration (3 semesters) with a foundation course in basic medical sciences, case studies, advanced theory, practical training and internship.

  • Internship will offer on-job training in the relevant subject either in house or in any suitable organization.

  • Quality education is custom designed in GMERF that nurtures unique abilities of each student and evokes a positive intellectual experience.

  • Knowledge of nutrition for overall health and wellness as well as therapeutic nutrition is recognized as integral tools for general health, prevention and treatment of many diseases currently affecting the global population.

  • The course is one and half year duration (3 semesters) with a foundation course in basic medical sciences, case studies, advanced theory, practical training and internship.

  • This program covers several core subjects in Nutrition & Dietetics such as Fundamentals of Nutrition/Sports Nutrition/Food Microbiology/Weight Management/Nutrition Support/Measuring Nutrition/Food Poisoning with a special emphasis on nutrition during special clinical situations like active disease, treatment and convalescence/rehabilitation etc.

  • Students are trained to use an evidence-based approach to transition patients from a state of disease back to a state of health and well-being.

  • Specifically, students are taught to identify imbalances which contribute to a disease state.

  • Our ultimate goal is to foster a future generation of clinical dieticians equipped to shift the current healthcare system from the current ‘treatment mode’ to one of ‘disease prevention and maintenance of optimal health.

This one and half year duration (3 semesters) is specifically designed for those who want to be part of tertiary care/super specialty healthcare services, rehabilitation centres, wellness centres/clinics and specialty food manufacturing and marketing.
